Tori Broussard Bonding Out
We are pleased that Tori Broussard was able to bond out of the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center on March 3, 2021. She is being unjustly prosecuted for two murders that she did not commit and did not have any role in their commission. We commend the Honorable Judge Derrick Kee for having the courage to reduce her bond on yesterday from $300,000.00 to $75,000.00. This was done at the conclusion of a lengthy hearing in which the lead detective from the Sheriff’s Office testified. In his ruling, Judge Kee accurately described the weight of the State’s evidence against our client as: “scant as scant can be!” The court also admonished and reprimanded the District Attorney’s Office and the detectives for their repeated failure to comply with court orders and to provide the defense with discovery materials in a timely manner.
Our innocent client was wrongfully incarcerated for nearly 8 months. She was stuck in Legal Limbo with no realistic trial date in sight. Now she can fully assist us in her defense as well as caring for her three sons. While we are sympathetic towards the families of the two people killed on July 15, ’20, it is imperative that only the person(s) legally responsible for their deaths be punished.
